Base Language Template:
Dear [name],

We demand the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of all 4 officers involved in the slaughtering of George Floyd: Derek Chauvin #1087, Tou Thao #7162, Thomas Lane, and J Alexander Kueng. In regards to yesterday's conviction of Derek Chauvin - 3rd-degree murder and manslaughter charges are not sufficient. Using of any type of force against protestors is not acceptable. In addition, we demand cutting the police department’s budget.

Action for Breonna Taylor - Contacting local government in Louisville, KY - working document

Base Language Template:
Hello,

My name is _____. I’m emailing today on behalf of the Breonna Taylor case. I’m calling for the prosecution of Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove to the fullest extent of the law- we will not stop until that happens. The man the officers were looking for didn't even live in the same building and was already in custody. Kenneth Walker acted in self defense, and for this he should not be prosecuted. The approach that the officers chose to take in arriving in plain clothes, unmarked cars and not announcing themselves was one that resulted in murder and must not be taken lightly.

Black Lives Matter.

Regards.

Know Your Rights While ProtestingEmerson Sykes, staff attorney for the ACLU's Speech, Privacy, & Technology Project, shares important information on how to protect yourself and others while protesting – and what rights you have when interacting with police.

Know Your Rights While ProtestingBlack Lives Matters Chicago believes we are at a critical point in the movement where we need to discuss security, protection and safety of protesters. With calls for people to take “increased risks” we need to lift up the importance of talking about security and protection, setting up jail support, having attorneys on board for those arrested, contacting the National Lawyers Guild and other legal observers, and to encourage critical discussions addressing tactics, risks and protection.
